2×2 photo
A 2×2 photo is two inches wide and two inches tall. That is the print size for a U.S. passport, most U.S. visa prints, and a green card photo. The head inside it has a size of its own.

JPEG or PNG. The file is read in this browser and is not uploaded.
Live view is mirrored on a front camera. The photo you keep is not.
Drag to move the crop. Arrow keys nudge. Plus and minus zoom.
Compliance check
PassOkay crops and checks. It does not replace the background, apply filters, or retouch the face.
These checks are estimates. They are not an acceptance decision, and PassOkay is not a government site. Head height is guessed from the chin and forehead, so nudge the crop if the guides miss the hair.
Two inches is 51 millimeters. At 600 DPI the file is 1200 × 1200 pixels. At 300 DPI it is 600 × 600, which is what the visa uploader wants. The head should land between half the frame and about 69 percent of the frame.
People search “2×2 photo” for passports, visas, and some ID cards. State IDs are not all the same. If this is for a DMV, read that state’s page before you rely on the passport rules.

How to do it
- Pick the document. Leave US passport selected, or switch to visa, DV lottery, or green card. The pixel size changes with the document.
- Fit the head. Drag and zoom until the top-of-head and chin guides match your photo and the head-size row says pass.
- Save the file you actually need. Digital JPEG, a 4×6 sheet, or both. The preview is watermarked until you unlock it.
Questions
What is a 2×2 passport photo in pixels?
600 × 600 pixels is 2 × 2 inches at 300 DPI. 1200 × 1200 is the same print at 600 DPI. Visa and DV lottery uploads want 600 × 600.
Is a 2×2 photo the same in every country?
No. The UK uses 35 × 45 mm. Canada uses 50 × 70 mm. China visa prints are often 33 × 48 mm. Use the size chart if you are not filing in the U.S.
Can I print a 2×2 photo at home?
For a U.S. passport or visa, yes, on photo paper, ideally from the 4×6 sheet. Canada and Australia refuse home prints for their passports.
