Passport photo size
Passport photo size depends on the document. A U.S. passport is 2 × 2 inches. A UK passport is 45 × 35 mm. This chart is the same data the crop tool uses.
Start with a photo
Drop a photo here, or use the buttons.
JPEG or PNG. The file is read in this browser and is not uploaded.
Live view is mirrored on a front camera. The photo you keep is not.
Drag to move the crop. Arrow keys nudge. Plus and minus zoom.
Compliance check
PassOkay crops and checks. It does not replace the background, apply filters, or retouch the face.
These checks are estimates. They are not an acceptance decision, and PassOkay is not a government site. Head height is guessed from the chin and forehead, so nudge the crop if the guides miss the hair.
Pixels follow from the print size and the DPI, except where a government upload states pixels directly. U.S. visa files are 600 to 1200 pixels square and at most 240 KB. India’s passport upload is 630 × 810. Canada’s online renewal file is at least 1200 × 1800.
Pick a row, open the document page, and the tool starts on that spec. Canada passport and Australia passport are listed so you can check a photo. PassOkay does not sell those prints.

How to do it
- Find the document. Use the chart, not a guess from another country’s photo.
- Open its page. Each page has the official link and the date we last read it.
- Crop only if that country allows a home photo. If the row says check only, use the result to decide whether to visit a photographer.
Questions
What is the standard passport photo size?
There isn’t one world size. The U.S. standard is 2 × 2 in. ICAO-style visas such as Schengen are often 35 × 45 mm.
How do I convert millimeters to pixels?
Pixels = millimeters ÷ 25.4 × DPI. A 35 × 45 mm photo at 300 DPI is about 413 × 531 pixels.
Why do two official pages disagree?
Some missions publish a print size and a different digital upload size. The China visa page on this site shows both.
Specs last checked . Each row links to the page where that spec was checked.
